CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF VETERANS
IN UNITED NATIONS PEACEKEEPING

CAVUNP SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO CHAPTER
This Chapter meets the third Saturday of every month at 1030 hrs -  207A Talbot St, Courtland.  If you're a Peacekeeping Veteran, why not come out and visit the other veterans and consider joining this worthwhile organization.

RESTORATION OF BUFFALO AIRCRAFT
August 9th was picked as Peacekeeper Tribute Day because it was on the 9th of August, 1974, when a Canadian Buffalo airplane carrying nine Canadian Peacekeepers was shot down over Syria.  All nine Canadians died and it was the largest number of fatalities in a single day of our Peacekeepers.  In Mount Hope, Ontario, a Buffalo aircraft is being restored and given the identical paint and numbering as the one that was shot down that fatal day.  The plane will be dedicated on the 9th of August, 2009 and, as more information becomes available, we'll pass it on to you.
Peacekeeper Park is presently working on plans to arrange for a bus to take people from Peacekeeper Park to the dedication ceremony.
