DAVID W. YOUNG CHAPTER - CAVUNP
The Southwestern
Ontario Chapter of CAVUNP has been renamed to honour Dave Young who was
instrumental in the start-up of the Chapter and who generously donated his
time, energy and his building for the use of the members. On the 20th
of November, following the regular meeting which starts at 1030 hrs. a
Memorial Service will be held at the Cemetery for LCpl David W. Young.
All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday of every month at 1030 hrs - 207A Talbot St, Courtland.

RESTORATION OF BUFFALO AIRCRAFT
August 9th was picked as
Peacekeeper Tribute Day because it was on the 9th of August, 1974, when a
Canadian Buffalo airplane carrying nine Canadian Peacekeepers was shot down
over Syria. All nine Canadians died and it was the largest number of
fatalities in a single day of our Peacekeepers. In Mount Hope,
Ontario, a Buffalo aircraft has been restored and given the identical paint
and numbering as the one that was shot down that fatal day. The plane
was dedicated on the 9th of August, 2009.
