New All-Purpose Building

LOCATION & FACILITIES

PEACEKEEPER PARK is located in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada, at a site provided by the Kettle Creek Conservation Authority known as Lake Whittaker.  We have formed a Private/Public Sector Partnership with the Kettle Creek Conservation Authority and they have been, and continue to be, an excellent partner, supporting all of our goals and especially the Special Adventure Camps.   Located 15 kilometres north of Aylmer, and just a half hour's drive from London, the site consists of approximately 550 acres of beautiful bush lands and a pristine, forty acre lake.  Peacekeeper Park headquarters is located at the extreme south end of Lake Whittaker Conservation Area, adjacent to Avon Drive/County Road 37.  The lake is aerated on a daily basis during the summer months, thus eliminating any algae formations, and is a stocked lake with many fish waiting to thrill our young anglers.  It provides an excellent canoeing, paddle boating and swimming area as well, or just a place to sit and watch a beautiful sunset.

We have available for our Special Adventure Camps our headquarters building, a garage used for maintenance and supply duties, a three room office trailer, a mess hall for 60 people, an in-ground swimming pool with chair lift, wheel chair accessible fishing platforms, groomed hiking trails, remote camp sites in the bush, an abseil tower, a confidence course, two sports fields and an abundance of plant and animal life.  In the spring of 2004, we planted over 11,000 new trees; built our Path of Honour which will have a storyboard for each Peacekeeping Mission that has cost Canadian lives and we our in the process of building our first two new buildings which will be completed in time to be used by the 2006 campers.

Peacekeeper Park is in a "911" area and is covered by excellent ambulance and paramedic services with three hospitals within twenty minutes of the Park.
