1. The cost of
renting Peacekeeper Park is $9/person/day. Rental fees are calculated on the number of personnel stated on
the original booking (RSS) but can and will be adjusted lower if the park is
notified at least five days prior to the booked date. Effective 01
Jan 06, this notification must be done by e-mail to
info@peacekeeperpark.com The rental fee
will be calculated on actual number present if significantly higher than was originally
booked.
2. Any reasonable
costs involved with repairing damages attributed to a group renting the Park
will be added to the rental fee. Costs associated with any required
clean-up after the use of the Park by a rental group will also be added to
the overall bill.
3. The rental fee includes the use of the training
grounds under Peacekeeper Park's control, the use of the Confidence Course,
Abseil Tower, Office Trailer, Pavilion, Sports Fields, Kitchen, Mess Hall,
Cabin and camping areas.
4. The use of the Pancake House may be arranged if
sufficient notice is received and the additional cost for the use of this
building, which does not belong to Peacekeeper Park, is seventy-five dollars ($75).
5. The HQ Building is available as emergency shelter
only, if so required. There is no extra charge for emergency use of
the HQ Building.
6. Telephone service for emergency or business
purposes is included in the rental fee
7. Clothes driers will be provided for the drying of
clothes and bedding in the event of inclement weather and there is no charge
of this service.
8. Rental groups are responsible for arranging for
the delivery and pick-up of sufficient portable toilets and washing
facilities for their group. No portable toilets will be delivered
inside of the Lake Whittaker main gate without the expressed permission of
Peacekeeper Park.
9. Rental groups are required to clean the areas and
buildings used at the end of each day and to put their garbage and other
waste in the waste containers provided. Rental groups will provide
their own garbage bags.
10. In the event that more than one group is using
Peacekeeper Park at the same time, the Park's Duty Officer will allocate the
use of, and timings of such usage, training equipment/facilities to each
group if the group leaders cannot amiably agree on usage and other
cooperation issues.
11. All groups using the Park agree to follow the
Park's Standing Orders and Safe Operating Procedures unless superseded by a
higher authority such as DND Orders and/or Regulations. Copies of the
Standing Orders and SOPs are available at the Park and the Safety Chapter of
the SOSOP Manual is available on this website.
12. All groups will use the training equipment
provided for the sole purpose for which it was issued and in a safe manner.
13. Rental groups will arrange for the delivery and
pick-up of stores to and from the Park and will provide personnel to load
and off-load such stores. Peacekeeper Park personnel will not normally
sign for delivered stores and will not load or off-load such stores.
14. Vehicle(s) belonging to the rental group(s) will
remain on the roadways and parking lots at all times unless permission is
given in writing by the Park's Duty Officer to leave these areas. All
vehicles will be driven in a safe manner and will not exceed the Park's
speed limit of 20 kph. The cost of any repairs required to damaged
grounds as a result of leaving the road/parking area will be added to your
rental fees.
15. Personal vehicles belonging to members of the
rental group(s) will be parked in designated areas upon arrival at the Park
and will remain there until the group leaves the Park. Parking along
the sides of the roads is a safety hazard to our campers and restricts the
free movement of emergency vehicles.
16. The secured storage of rental group(s) equipment
is the sole responsibility of the rental group. Peacekeeper Park is
not responsible for loss or damage to the group's equipment or personal
effects. The Park will endeavour to provide small secured storage
areas if so requested.
17. Peacekeeper Park is not responsible for the
storage and/or preparation of any fresh rations brought to the Park by the
rental group.
18. The Park agrees to provide tested, potable cold
water in sufficient quantity to rental groups.
19. The Park agrees to maintain all training
equipment provided by the Park in a safe state according the the Park's
Standing Orders.
20. All rental groups will comply with the Park's
In-Routine and Out-Routine procedures.
21. If a rental group(s) plans to train outside of
the boundaries of the Lake Whittaker Conservation Authority, Peacekeeper
Park must be notified at the time of the booking with a description of the
area required and for what purposes in order that a Right of Use form may be
arranged and completed with the applicable land owner.
